My name is Nadine and I am 22 years old. I am from Moldova and have a six year old son named Stephen. I heard from a friend about a waitressing job in Italy and decided to take it so I could afford an education for Stephen. Once I arrived my passport was taken from me and I, along with six other girls, travelled by car to a farmhouse in Romania. We were kept there for a week and were given minimal food. We were then taken to the Serbian border and had to cross under the cover of darkness because we had no papers. At a second farmhouse, our upper bodies were stripped bare and we were ‘inspected’ by many men. One man ‘bought’ me and made me have sex with men at knifepoint in his home. I was eventually trafficked to Italy where my ordeal continued.
